ABOUT PROJECT

The Cursed DayZ is first and foremost a gaming community that runs a custom DayZ server. Our role at Organikk Digital was to help amplify their digital presence by building a world class, responsive website that truly reflected the community behind it. We had a lot of fun with this project and explored some unique ideas that we’ll touch on later in the solution.

One of the most important requirements for Matthew, the founder of The Cursed DayZ, was that players could connect directly to the server through the website. It also needed to display live information, such as whether the server was online, how many players were active and other real time details that mattered to the community.

Alongside this, the gaming space is incredibly competitive, especially when it comes to custom servers. With that in mind, we brought our SEO expertise into play and began creating content designed to build topical authority around keywords gamers were actively searching for. The aim was simple. Attract the right players to the website and encourage them to join the server.

THE CHALLENGE

The biggest challenge with this project, and with many we work on, was starting from scratch. The Cursed DayZ had no real digital presence beyond their Discord server. That meant no existing website, no brand guidelines and no visual assets to work from.

We built the brand foundations from the ground up, defining fonts, colours and tone of voice in a way that felt authentic to the community. Matthew loved the direction, which solved the first major hurdle.

The next challenge was more technical. Matthew wanted live server data displayed directly on the website, so we used API calls to pull real time information from the server and present it clearly on the site. This allowed visitors to instantly see server status and activity, without leaving the page.

Once those challenges were solved, we could focus on crafting a website that truly served the community. In many ways, building the site itself felt straightforward compared to creating a brand from nothing and implementing the technical integrations behind the scenes.

OUR SOLUTION

The end result was a fully bespoke, responsive and fast website designed specifically for the gaming community. It delivers an exciting but effortless experience, allowing users to join the server, learn about gameplay, and access valuable insights such as tips, updates and server information.

We also implemented the live data integration mentioned earlier. For anyone unfamiliar, an API allows different systems to communicate and share information. In this case, it enabled the website to display real time server data directly within the interface.

To support long term growth, we also laid the groundwork for SEO and analytics. Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager were set up to track user behaviour and engagement, while all CTAs were configured for full visibility. Google Search Console was also implemented to support ongoing SEO performance.

Looking ahead, we’ll be expanding the site further with community forums to strengthen topical authority and create even more opportunities for engagement and growth.

RESULTS

The most important result was a genuinely happy client. Matthew said:

"I had no idea where to begin with a website till Ryan at Organikk helped me build a website. It passed every expectation I had. Its modern, helps our playbase and allows us to keep our community updated"

Strong relationships matter hugely to us at Organikk Digital, so feedback like this means a lot.

From a performance perspective, the results speak for themselves. The website now ranks in first position for 11 relevant keywords, scores highly on PageSpeed Insights and attracts over 1,500 users per month, a fantastic outcome for a growing gaming community, with numbers continuing to climb.
